I had bought a 85gt with t tops for 900 bucks last winter.The only thing that it needed was a flywheel and a starter.So i fixed that and drove it around the block and i wasnt satisfied with the performance..I remembered my 87 lx that was efi and it drove so much better,This is where my project started!..The first thing i did was take out the dash, carpet basicly everything in the interior and sold it.I got more than enough money back to buy the newer 92 dash and door panels and console..then i found a grey carpet,and the newer hatchback interior quarter panels..But before i could put all that in i had to find 87 up wire hareness from headlight to taillight..It took me forever to find these..But i got them in and in went the dash..I also updated the doors to 88gt t top doors,and i updated to the newer quarter glass..On to the engine now , The engine was one giant grease ball! I took the heads out and ported these babies to the max and polished them.I got the trickflow spring upgrade for them to.I installed a F cam.This is as far as i got now on the engine.I bought a turbo wing fin for it and lx taillights..I still have to get a mass air computer and a holley ignition.I completly forgot about the gas tank and fuel lines i got these to from a 89gt...I will be updating as i go along..if you got any comments or questions please feel free to email me. i have taken the heads to get a new valve job.i also am getting them milled .20 . i have installed the newer gt cover and put on my cobra r with scoops hood on..i have ported the lower intake, on the top part i made them into the shape of a D.. I have also gotten my RCI seats in black... It is finally coming along nicley!! I only need a few more parts to get the car going..I will be updating the rear brakes to disc brakes and will be putting in a 8.8 rear with 3 73s..sometime... I will update again when i get more done.. |
